Big band - A big band is a large musical ensemble that plays jazz music. The term is synonymous with the bands of the Swing Era, which were popular through the 1930s and 1940s, but is generally applied to any large jazz ensemble.

Swing Revival - The Swing Revival was cultural phenomenon of the 1990s and early 2000s which featured renewed popular interest in music in the style of the Swing period of the 1930s and 1940s. Many of the popular groups of the movement were instrumented in the Big Band style.
